Champ Libre is a non-profit cultural organization founded in 1992 in Montreal and that has as mandate the presentation of and awakening to the arts in relation with architecture and urban planning. For 15 years the nomadic organization has multiplied with success site specific artistic interventions on contemporary and heritage public sites and buildings touching thus a public constantly widened. Among the urban sites in which Champ Libre has presented its events let us mention: The Usine C (1995), the Foufounes Electriques (1997), the Berri-UQAM subway station (1998), The Technopôle Angus (1999), the Craig pumping station (2002), the des Carrières Incinerator (2004) and recently the site of the Grande Bibliothèque in Montreal (2006). In 15 years Champ Libre has presented the work of more than a 1000 Montreal and international artists giving a place of choice to young creators.


Strong of its 15 years of existence and more than 30 major artistic realizations of which its MANIFESTION INTERNATIONALE, biennale event being held on the Montreal territory, it is with pleasure that Champ Libre invites you to support the organization in the realization of its mandate for the next year, while becoming a member.


We invite you warmly to join us for this first membership campaign in 15 years of existence and thus to support the forerunning mandate of Champ Libre at the encounter of architecture, art, new technologies and public space.


If you believe in the mandate that Champ Libre defends, it is time to make yourself known. If you wish to support the new general and artistic direction of the organization in the professional realization of its mandate, Champ Libre needs you. Participate in the organization‘s consolidation while becoming a member. Express your interest and will that Champ Libre exists, because your voice counts. Be of those that will have participated in a new part of the organization’s history.


By its nomadic mandate that reinvents the contemporary public space, Champ Libre does not own a place of permanent art presentation. Its members constitute its « walls ». Champ Libre needs this support in order to develop strong and significant projects, in a stable way. It is while becoming a member that you send a clear message to all the partners of Champ Libre to underline that the organization must persist in its process and grow.
