PRESENTATION

The third Manifestation Internationale Vidéo et Art Électronique, will take place at the chic cabaret Foufounes Électriques, in Montreal from September 23rd to 29th, 1997. Champ Libre will transform this icon of Montreal underground culture into a veritable agora of the moving image.

Following on the intiative of the 1993 event, Champ Libre will present a selection of videos representing more than 25 countries during this biennial. Furthermore the Manifestation will present five installations that interweave video and new technologies.

The program will be completed through a presentation of network art and internet sites, as well as a media lounge, a CD-ROM bar a video library and a series of performances and lecture-meetings. Mentions will be awarded to the most outstanding works in each of the Manifestation's selection categories.
