Champ Libre est très heureux d’annoncer la tenue du laboratoire événementiel VU DU DÉSERT qui se tiendra le 8 AVRIL 2004 dans l’atelier du designer architecte montréalais JACQUES BILODEAU sise au 925 de la rue des Carrières à Montréal (Métro Rosemont). Durant le jour, ce laboratoire de recherche permettra de révéler et discuter des différents volets artistiques et scénographiques en préparation de la 6E biennale de Champ Libre : DESERT - 6E MANIFESTATION INTERNATIONALE VIDÉO ET ART ÉLECTRONIQUE, MONTREAL - 20 au 27 septembre 2004. Cette manifestation aura lieu à l’incinérateur des Carrières situé dans l’arrondissement Rosemont Petite-Patrie.

JEUDI LE 8 AVRIL 2004

En exclusivité, jeudi le 8 Avril 2004 à partir de 19h30, un événement public à ciel ouvert d’art électronique sera présenté dans la rue des Carrières entre les rues Boyer et St André. Champ Libre investira donc pour la première fois ce quartier populaire.

Conçu comme un incubateur d’idées, VU DU DÉSERT, donnera ainsi accès aux travaux en cours d’artistes à qui des oeuvres in situ ont été commandées et permettra d’ouvrir largement un dialogue autour du thème Désert. Il comportera une série de présentations sur les nouvelles technologies, leur relation à l’architecture et à la thématique du Désert.

Philosophes, artistes, écrivains, urbanistes, sociologues, architectes, universitaires, chercheurs, scientifiques, résidents du quartier, journalistes, politiciens et économistes seront rassemblés et auront pour mandat d’exprimer sans retenue toutes leurs opinions, perspectives, points de vue et réflexions en lien avec l’événement DÉSERT prévu à Montréal en septembre prochain.

VU DU DÉSERT ÉVÉNEMENT PUBLIC

Dès la tombée du jour Champ Libre convie le public montréalais à une mise en espace urbaine devant le 925 rue des Carrières entre Boyer et St-André et à une soirée de diffusion d’oeuvres artistiques. A l’occasion du lancement du site Internet retraçant les 12 ans d’activités nomades de Champ Libre, une programmation spéciale montrera des vidéos d’artistes marquantes sélectionnées à partir des événements artistiques que Champ Libre a présenté à Montréal depuis 1992. Cette programmation sera suivie d’une projection multimédia en avant première de quelques oeuvres artistiques choisies pour la 6e biennale de Champ Libre. Une programmation de musique électronique sera aussi au rendez-vous.

CHAMP LIBRE A 12 ANS.

Depuis maintenant 12 ans, Champ Libre a pour mission de développer et de promouvoir l’art électronique en s’insérant directement dans la communauté. Pour souligner l’événement, Champ Libre présentera, en grande première, sa nouvelle image Internet. Rendez-vous à l’adresse www.champ-libre.org le 8 avril prochain à 14:00.

Rappelons que Champ Libre fondé en 1992 a été le promoteur d’une vingtaine d’événements de diffusion nomade autour de la création liée à l'architecture, l'urbanisme, l'art et les nouvelles technologies et ce tant au Québec qu’à l’international.

Champ Libre is very proud to announce the laboratory event VU DU DÉSERT, which will take place on the 8th of April 2004 in the workshop of Montreal designer JACQUES BILODEAU, at 925 des Carrières Street in Montreal (Rosemont Metro). During the day, this laboratory of research will allow the different artistic and scenographic sections in preparation for Champ Libre’s 6th biennial to be revealed and discussed: DÉSERT – 6th MANIFESTATION INTERNATIONALE VIDÉO ET ART ÉLECTRONIQUE, MONTREAL – 20th to 27th of September 2004. This manifestation will take place in the Des Carrières Incinerator, situated in the Rosemont Petite-Patrie district.

THURSDAY APRIL 08 2004

Exclusively, Thursday April the 8th 2004 starting at 7.30PM, an open sky public electronic art event will be presented in the des Carrières street between Boyer and St André streets. Champ Libre will invest therefore for the first time this popular neighbourhood and an occasion for them to reveal some artistic elements of the 6th biennial.

Conceived as an idea incubator, VU DU DÉSERT, will give access to the work in progress of artists to whom Champ Libre has ordered in situ pieces and will largely open a dialogue around the selected theme. It will contain a series of presentations on new technologies and their relation with architecture and the desert. Philosophers, artists, writers, urbanists, sociologists, architects, university students, researchers, scientists, neighbourhood residents, journalists, politicians and economists will be gathered and be asked to express without restraint all of their opinions, perspectives, points of vues and thoughts regarding the DÉSERT event of September.

VU DU DESERT PUBLIC EVENT

At nightfall, Champ Libre invites the Montreal public to an urban installation in front of the 925 Des Carrières to see original works of video art. Moreover, on the same occasion, Champ Libre will launch its new website retracing 12 years of nomadic activities and will present a special selection of artistic videos that stood out from the events that Champ Libre has organised since 1992. This program will be followed by a multimedia projection of some of the art works that have been selected for September’s 6th biennial on the desert theme. There will also be an electronic music set on the same night.

CHAMP LIBRE has 12 years of existence.

For 12 years now, Champ Libre’s mandate has been to develop and promote electronic art by inserting itself directly into the community. For this special occasion, Champ Libre will present on a big premiere, the 8th of April its new Internet image. Meeting point at the address www.champ-libre.org the 8th of April 2004 at 2PM.

Let’s not forget that Champ Libre, founded in 1992, has promoted close to 20 events of nomadic diffusion related to new technologies and these have taken place both in Quebec and around the world.
